Reformation Characters

Reformation characters are members of the outlander agencies on site at the Shell. Their motives vary from department to department, but all are in at least some level of opposition to the Curator.

Reformation characters are from the advanced society beyond the Shell, and can call upon high tech resources, making them a potent match against the Curator units – but only a very few highly skilled individuals are able to operate in the open without becoming immediate targets.
Since the Shell’s discovery by the Ryujo BV-43 explorer vessel, several agencies have set up operations on the Shell, tokenly working towards similar aims; the Reformation’s desire to relink all worlds of the First Empire and discover the location of Terra. However, each agency still has their own agenda, backed by different shards of the fractious Reformation government.

Of special note, with more than a thousand years of generations, the Reformation populace has descended from the numerically superior Asiatic people of Earth. Though they may vary between South, Central, and Eastern Asia, all peoples of the Hegemonic Reformation have this distinction, both in appearance and naming conventions.

Darker-skinned Negroid and fair skinned Causasians physical attributes are unheard of within the Reformation; and as such, the only experiences a Reformation character would have with a biological taxon beyond their own would be in the Shell.

Similar to their Exhibit Entity counterparts, Reformation members have been integrated with a sub-dermal computer matrix that enhances their physical and mental abilities.

Agents assigned to operate on the Shell have been previously augmented with a language matrix containing all known major languages and dialects on the Shell.

HEGEMONIC META-TRAITS

Reformation agents working on the Shell have stepped beyond the baseline of normal humanity, and are the products of either advanced genengineering or biotechnology. Such advanced genetherapy makes even unaugmented Reformation agents physically more capable than Exhibit humanity.

HEGEMONIC OUTLANDER META-TRAITS   (62 points)
The Hegemony has cultured genengineering science and careful eugenic improvements produce a society of attractive, athletic, healthy individuals. Medical scanning may reveal minor “mutations” compared to the human norm, such as being born without an appendix. It is a simple Homo superior genotype designed specifically for combat operations and augmented with limited cybernetic implantation.

NAGITA-AOL BIOROIDAL ENTITIES

Although genengineering has worked marvels on the physical bodies of humanity, several corporate entities remained unsatisfied with manipulating the natural, and took a step beyond – creating life anew from base components.

These artificially constructed living organism are assembled via biogenesis (BIO26) nanotechnology rather than grown from an embryo.

This form of tissue engineering is taken to the point where biological molecules can be assembled into a viable organism. Nanomachines lay down a polymer or carbon composite scaffolding and assemble bone, muscle, nerves, and other tissues on this framework. The cells are controlled by artificial chromosomes, designed to produce the proteins and enzymes needed by the resulting organism.

These bioroids (short for biological androids) are humanoid beings created using biogenesis. Although they can be made to resemble humans, deep differences will be apparent if the cells are examined. Baseline bioroids are designed to accept artificial chromosomes, with “slots” into which genetic engineers can easily plug specific modules of genes. Much redundant material, such as introns, is left out of bioroids.

A basic bioroid design is similar to a genetically upgraded human. They are be sterile, though some female models have been able to act as surrogate mothers with implanted or in situ tissueengineered reproductive organs grown from human DNA.

Early bioroids had limited intelligence, restricted to instinctive actions, but as the technology matured designers had be able to produce learning and reasoning capability. Since bioroids are produced in a fully grown form without passing through childhood, they require intensive learning programs to achieve human levels of intelligence in a reasonable time; they are therefore subject to for deep learning technology (BIO143).

It is worth noting that despite their artificial origins, a bioroid has all the rights and priviledges of natural-born humans.

Nagita-Aol has several bioroid product lines active amongst Reformation forces on the Shell. While all share the base meta-traits, each model has intrinsic designs for the duties they are expected to perform.

NEGAI SERIES   (+110 points)
The pinnacle of Negita-Aol’s K-44 bioroid line, the Negai series “takes bioroid science into the next evolutionary leap.” Highly advanced, and built with cutting edge technology, the Negai models easily surpass their natural human counterparts.

This series finds extensive use in high performance duties, such as assassinations and solitary long term mission work; as such they are a favourite with the Butterfly Initiative.
Despite their advancements, the Negai series has a tendency for strange mental idiosyncracies to creep into their cerebral matrix. As such, all Negai models are required to take 20 points of additional mental disadvantages.

The Negai series are produced in batches of three identical “siblings,” each a twin of the others, though they each maintain their own personalities and thoughts.

KIRI SERIES   (+92 points)
The Kiri series are lighter model bioroids designed with the inherent ability to function as personal aides and laboratory assistants in the fields of science and mathematics. Initially designed for Nagita-Aol’s own use, the Kiri line has had remarkable success in markets outside the corporate body’s. They are quick-thinkers and amiable.

The Kiri series are produced in batches of nine identical “siblings,”with three separate groups intrinsically linked and design to operate as a triad.

OTA SERIES   (+64 points)
Tough and massive, the OIa Series have found a home in the difficult and dangerous work of mining and pre-world colonization. Additionally, the Ota have a forte as shock soldiers specifically serving as the heavy firepower for CESI-5 combat operations.

Thuggish and brutish, the Ota do not possess the inherent attractiveness of the other biorioid lines, but are far more potent physically.

ANSUI SERIES    (+93 points)
As a precursor to the Negai line of bioroids, the Ansui were designed for speed, agility, and athletic ability – while their mental faculties remain on par with baseline humanity.

These heightened reflexes put a strain on their bodies, and as such they “burn out” earlier than other bioroid lines (no Longevity or Regeneration), and also require extra sleep each rest cycle.
